ABOUT THE ARTIST

Barbara Boylan is an American illustrator and realism artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, living in Northern Virginia. She was born in Dianbai, China. Her process for illustration combines watercolor paints layered with pen and ink.

Barbara has shown her work at The Torpedo Factory.

She is working as a Graphic Designer at Blueprint Trial Consulting, located in Fairfax, Virginia.

 

She graduated from the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at The George Washington University and majored in Fine Arts with a concentration in Drawing/Painting and minored in Classical Studies. She received the Outstanding BFA in Fine Arts: Ethel Lorraine Bernstein Memorial Fund.

Her grandmother and father’s love and passion of the arts inspired her to follow in their footsteps and pursue portraiture and illustration
